City farm Organic Farms
With organic farms of our own, City Shop is among the first to do organic cultivation in Shanghai since the year of 2003. Over nearly ten years, the area and variety keep growing. Up to now, we own over 230 mu certificated organic farms and about 30 organic varieties, including lettuces, tomatoes, strawberries for raw usage, greens and spices for cooking. Cultivating, harvesting, packaging and transportation are all under strict monitor. And we are still expanding organic culture, with more organic transition already in progress.

City Farm Organic Cultivation
Take strawberry culture in our City farm as an example. Before planting, natural manures are used first to enrich the soil. During the growth of strawberries, manual weeding is adopted. Edible sodium solution is used to prevent disease. To control pests, our professionals use yellow board, special lights, nets, sex attractant and more, but never pesticides. No pesticides sometimes means no harvest because of heavy disease or heavy pest damage. However, we are willing to take the risk of no harvest at all to make sure you get to enjoy the most original berries best for your health. Our strict monitoring system from beginning to end guarantees everything goes on as we planned it. Organic manures, bought or made by our professionals, are tested before using. Produce harvested is also sampled, tested and then packaged. We deliver them by cold chain transportation so there’s no chance of pollution or mixing up.
